Sports at Tamilnadu Theological Seminary (2024-2025): More Than Just a Game

At Tamilnadu Theological Seminary (TTS), Madurai, sports are more than just competitions—they are about community, teamwork, and well-being. Through active participation in sports, students and faculty strengthen bonds, develop leadership skills, and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Under the leadership of our Principal, Rev. Margaret Kalaiselvi, and with the dedicated efforts of Rev. K.L.D.R (Sports In-Charge Faculty) and Sam Vargith (Sports Secretary), TTS continues to uphold the importance of sports in seminary life.

The Annual Sports Day was successfully held on January 31, 2025, bringing together students, faculty, and staff in a spirited celebration of athleticism and camaraderie. The event featured a diverse range of indoor and outdoor games, where participants showcased their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Unlike conventional college sports events, TTS takes an inclusive approach—faculty, staff, and students all participate, making Sports Day a unique community experience. The enthusiasm and energy displayed reflected the seminary’s commitment to holistic education.

To foster healthy competition and team spirit, TTS follows a House System, where participants are divided into four houses:

Throughout the year, these houses compete in various sports and games, from athletics and team sports to traditional indoor games. Each event strengthens leadership, resilience, and unity, creating an engaging and dynamic sports culture.

At TTS, sports are not just about physical activity; they are an integral part of spiritual and academic growth. Engaging in sports helps students and faculty:

By integrating sports into daily life, TTS remains committed to nurturing the mind, body, and spirit, ensuring that every member of the community experiences personal growth through sports.

The legacy of sports at TTS continues to inspire and unite the seminary community. Whether through competitive events or friendly matches, every game played strengthens the bonds of faith, fellowship, and fitness.
