Rev. V. Sheela

Rev. Sheela is an ordained minister of the Tamil Evangelical Lutheran Church (TELC) and currently serves as a Teaching Faculty, Chaplain, and Music Teacher at Tamil Nadu Theological Seminary (TTS) since 2023. She holds a Master of Social Work and an MPhil from Madurai Kamaraj University, along with a PG Diploma in Counselling. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Adyar Music College. She did her Bachelor of Divinity followed by Master of Theology in 2019 from Tamil Nadu Theological Seminary.

Rev. Sheela’s professional journey reflects her commitment to both pastoral and social engagement. From 2005, she worked as a social worker at Arulagam, Madurai, followed by a role as Teaching Faculty at Madurai Institute of Social Work (2007-2009). Between 2009 and 2012, she served as a Research Assistant at ICMR, Chennai. As Pastor-Chairman of the TELC Anaimalayanpatti Pastorate from 2019 to 2023, she combined her ministerial responsibilities with her passion for music and teaching.

Her areas of special interest include music, classical singing, women and gender studies, ecological issues, and preaching. She actively integrates these interests into her teaching and pastoral care.
