About
Mr. Livingstone Arputharaj serves as an Assistant Professor in the department of Pastoral Care and Counselling. He belongs to Church of South India. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Madras University and later earned his Bachelor of Divinity from Bishop’s college in 2008. Following his studies he served in L’arche, United Kingdom, living with people with learning disabilities for two years. He earned his Master of Theology in Pastoral Care and Counselling from United Theological College, Bangalore, in 2012. He then taught at Calvin Institute of Theology and Gurukul Lutheran Theological College and Research Institute for four years each. He has completed his Doctor of Theology residential period at Union Biblical Seminary, Pune, and is currently working on his dissertation on Collective Trauma. His area of interest include Indigenous Expressions of Pastoral Care and Counselling, Postcolonial Pastoral Care Approaches, Liberative Practices of Pastoral Care, Pastoral Care as Social Justice, Pastoral Care and Free Market, and Mental Health.\
